School Council News

Rona is pleased to introduce this opportunity to support St. Peter Catholic High School. The fundraiser is very simple. Every student will receive a Rona discount card which entitles the card holder to receive 5% discount at Rona Home and Garden. This discount card may be used as many times as you choose. Also, a matching donation of 5% will be made to St. Peter Catholic High School for every purchase that you make.

The two participating Rona Stores are:
1. Rona Home & Garden - 1880 Innes Road 613-741-6331
2. Rona Home & Garden - 585 West Hunt Club Road 613-226-5636

This discount card may not be combined with any other offer or promotion such as sale items, Rona gift cards, Run to Rona event, financing and/or Air Miles promotions. This is applicable for in- stock merchandise only and not for special order or installed merchandise. Rona will donate 5% of every purchase made with the card even if the item you purchase is not discountable.

Parent Council has recently purchased $1000 of parent resources using PIC grant monies. For information of the resources available, please see School Council Library.

The Catholic School Parents Association has given the Board monies to buy E-books for parents to use. Our School Parents' Association has purchased a number of books in print format for our parents as well. E-books can be downloaded to your electronic device for two weeks. If you are interested in borrowing one of the books in print format you may ask your child to come in and sign it out or you may do so yourself by coming here to the St. Peter Library Learning Commons. Please click here for instructions on how to access these books and for a full listing of the books available. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Hubbs in the school library at 613-837-9377 x 244. Happy reading!

OCSB Parent Involvement Committee (PIC)

The Ottawa Catholic School Board Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is a provincially mandated committee made up of parents, a trustee, a principal and the Director of Education. The purpose of PIC is to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement at the school board level in order to improve student achievement and well-being. The parent members of the OCSB PIC are appointed by CSPA.

Learn more about OCSB's PIC on the PIC page of the Board website.

The Catholic School Parents’ Association (CSPA)
is a volunteer group representing the parents in our school board. We are a resource for school councils and the parent community for information on local and provincial education issues. Through our website, Twitter, and email newsletters we provide updates on education in Ottawa & Ontario; plus we share great tips, resources and information to help parents support their children in school. All parents are welcome and encouraged to join our e-mail list, follow us on Twitter or attend CSPA monthly meetings.

Visit the CSPA website to learn more about CSPA and the work we do to support parents and their children in our schools.
