Student Awards Opportunities

The Ottawa Community Foundation is pleased to be administering the Black Canadian Scholarship Fund awards. Students are to submit their applications directly to the Black Canadian Scholarship Fund in time to meet the deadline of May 31st, 2019, as per the instructions on the application form (French). A yet-to-be-determined number of awards valued at $6,000 each will be offered and the Black Canadian Scholarship Fund Committee will select the recipients.  

RBC Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards

Youth Ottawa will once again recognize 14 exceptional youth at our 22nd RBC Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards on the evening of Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 at Ottawa City Hall.

We are looking for nominations for award recipients who will receive a $1,000 bursary to be used towards the advancement of academic pursuits or social and environmental change projects in line with the values of Youth Ottawa.

Who can nominate?

Individuals of any age can nominate a youth or group of youth who deserve to be celebrated. In order for an individual or group to be recognized, the nominator must complete the form at Nominees are judged based on the quality of one nomination, not the number of nominations submitted.

Who can be nominated?

Any individual or group with members 21 years of age and under as of January 1st, 2019 can receive an award. They must reside within the Ottawa municipal limits.

The Awards

There will be two recipients in seven categories:

1. Arts and Culture

2. Strength through Diversity

3. Academic Perseverance

4. Entrepreneurship

5. Take a Stand

6. Service and Caring

7. Max Keeping Award for Personal Courage.
